บทคัดย่อภาษาไทย

             This dissertation has been conducted to study the way to integration with the eight worldly conditions (EWC) in the contemporary world based on Buddhist scriptures and scholar’s perspectives. The objectives of the research are: 1) to study the manifestation of the eight worldly conditions in the contemporary world, 2) to explore the contemporary world and the Buddhist the response to the eight worldly conditions, and 3) to propose the way to integrate with the eight worldly conditions in the contemporary world. The methodology of this study is qualitative research approach combining with the in-depth interviews of eight key-informants. The research findings are that all sentient beings are subject to the eight worldly conditions. No one can avoid from the influence of these worldly conditions except the Arahant by mentally. Moreover, the contemporary world in the 21^st century is characterized by materialistic conditions and consumerism where people are attached to the four good worldly conditions- gain, fame, praise, and happiness. On the contrary, they are avoiding from the bad four worldly conditions- loss, defame, blame, and pain. All in all, the Buddha has suggested the way to integrate with the eight worldly conditions through satipatthāna training. Moreover, the findings have evidenced further that there are when analysing the key-informants’ perspectives has led to the eight ways to integrate with eight worldly conditions in the contemporary world. These eight ways are Acceptance of EWC, Study the nature of EWC, Utilization of EWC, Tolerance of EWC, Yonisomanasikāra, Practice meditation, Encouragement of positive thinking, and Contemplation of the three characteristics.
