บทคัดย่อภาษาไทย
Objectives of the study comprise: 1) to study an improvement on presentation skills of M.A. students in International Program in English at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University; 2) to study the methods of an improvement on presentation skills of M.A. students in International Program in English at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University; and 3) to analyze ways for improving presentation skills of M.A. students in International Program in English at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University. The study is a mixed quantitative research and qualitative research in nature. A questionnaire is used for collecting data from 63 M.A. students studying the International Program in English, Faculty of Humanities, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University in the academic year 2015 from and group discussion is done with 10 students. Statistics for analyzing data includes Frequency, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation (S.D) and a content analysis is used for analysis for analyzing qualitative data.
Results of the study are as follows:
1. From a study of an improvement in presentation skills of M.A. students in International Program in English at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University it found that the respondents could not use well Phrasal-Verbs and the power of idioms the mean of which was 3.11, the runner-un of the respondents was not able to talk a short Story-telling during presentation with 3.06 of mean, the third result was a loss of confidence before presentation with 3.00, the fourth order of result was making mistake when giving presentation in English with 2.93 of mean, the number ive of result was a lack of vocabulary with the mean level of 2.90, the number six of result was the problem of feeling with the mean of 2.71, the seventh result was bad pronunciations that were difficult to understand clearly with the mean level of 2.65, the number eighth result was that the presenter could not pay a respect and follow other cultures with the mean level of 2.58, and the last and least result was a lack of Nonverbal language with the mean of 2.58. In this table, therefore, the respondents mention that they could not use well phrasal verbs as the biggest problem while giving English presentation.
2. In respect of a study of the methods of an improvement on presentation skills of M.A. students in International Program in English at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University it found that methods of solution for improving presentation comprised 1) acts as an actor when giving presentation was the highest mean of 3.74, 2) Speaking daily English with foreigners had the mean of 1.95, and 3) act as an actor when giving presentation.
3. Regarding ways for improving presentation skills of M.A. students in International Program in English at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University it found that ways for improving presentation comprised 1) students should attend any seminars as an activity with the overall mean of 3.55, and 2) students should practice more English speaking with the overall mean of 1.69.
