บทคัดย่อภาษาไทย

วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่อง พลวัตประเพณีการทำบุญกฐินของชาวตำบลอุ่มเม่า อำเภอยางตลาด จังหวัดกาฬสินธุ์  มีวัตถุประสงค์ 3 ประการ คือ 1) เพื่อศึกษาการทอดกฐินในพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาท 2) เพื่อศึกษาประเพณีการทอดกฐินของชาวตำบลอุ่มเม่า อำเภอยางตลาด จังหวัดกาฬสินธุ์ และ 3) เพื่อวิเคราะห์พลวัตประเพณีการทำบุญกฐินของชาวตำบลอุ่มเม่า อำเภอยางตลาด จังหวัดกาฬสินธุ์ งานวิจัยนี้เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research) ศึกษาเชิงเอกสารและการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก

ผลการวิจัย พบว่า กฐินในพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาท เป็นการทำบุญในพระพุทธศาสนาที่มีรากฐานมาจากพระวินัยบัญญัติในเรื่องกฐิน เป็นพุทธานุญาตที่มอบให้แก่ภิกษุผู้อยู่จำพรรษาครบถ้วนไตรมาส 3 เดือน ในวัดนั้นต้องมีภิกษุอยู่จำพรรษาไม่น้อยกว่า 5 รูป ขึ้นไป ให้กรานกฐินได้หลังออกพรรษา มีกำหนดภายใน 1 เดือน เป็นทานพิเศษที่พระพุทธเจ้าทรงประทานให้โดยไม่ต้องร้องขอ ด้วยพุทธประสงค์ให้การอนุเคราะห์ในเรื่องผ้าจีวรนุ่งห่ม สร้างความสามัคคีในหมู่สงฆ์ทำให้ได้รับอานิสงส์กฐิน และเป็นการสนับสนุนพระสงฆ์ผู้ปฏิบัติดีปฏิบัติชอบ ต่อมามีผู้ศรัทธานำผ้ากฐินไปถวายแก่พระสงฆ์หลังวันออกพรรษา จึงเรียกพิธีกรรมนี้ว่า ประเพณีการทำบุญกฐิน มาจนถึงปัจจุบัน

ประเพณีการทำบุญกฐินของชาวตำบลอุ่มเม่า อำเภอยางตลาด จังหวัดกาฬสินธุ์  มีพัฒนาการเรื่อยมาจากรูปแบบการทอดกฐินเชิงจารีต ที่มีรากฐานมาจากพระวินัยบัญญัติ มี 2 รูปแบบคือ กฐินที่มีเจ้าภาพปักจอง และกฐินสามัคคี ต่อมามีการบูรณาการตามยุคสมัย การถวายผ้าจึงนิยมใช้ผ้าจีวรสำเร็จรูปเป็นผ้ากฐิน มีการรวบรวมปัจจัยถวายเป็นบริวารกฐิน เป็นประเพณีที่ดีงามสร้างเสริมให้เกิดความสามัคคีของคนในชุมชน และพบว่า รูปแบบการทอดกฐินพึงประสงค์ประกอบด้วย รักษาพระวินัยบัญญัติ ยึดรูปแบบศาสนพิธีส่งเสริมความพอเพียง ประสานความสามัคคี และมีปัญญา เป็นรูปแบบที่ให้ความสำคัญกับการรักษาประเพณีการทำบุญกฐิน ให้เป็นประเพณีอันดีงามของชุมชนที่จะอยู่สนับสนุนส่งเสริมให้ประเพณีการทำบุญกฐินของชาวตำบลอุ่มเม่า อำเภอยางตลาด จังหวัดกาฬสินธุ์ เป็นแบบอย่างที่ดีงามสืบต่อสู่ชนรุ่นหลังสืบไป

บทคัดย่อภาษาอังกฤษ

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the Kathin ceremony in Theravada Buddhism; 2) to study the traditions of the Kathin ceremony of Ummao Sub-district, Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province; 3) to analyze the dynamics of the Kathin merit making of Ummao Sub-district, Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province. The study was carried out by means qualitative research. The data collection was conducted from studying documents and in-depth interviews. 

The results of the research were as follows:

Kathin in Theravada Buddhism is a merit making in Buddhism rooted in the discipline of Kathin. It is the Buddha's blessing given to the monks who live in the lent for a full quarter of three months. In that temple, there must be no less than five monks living in the Buddhist Lent to be able to proceed the Kathin after the end of Buddhist Lent, which is scheduled within 1 month. It is a special offering that the Lord Buddha has given without requesting with his wish to provide support of robes, to create unity among the monks, thus obtaining the virtue of the Kathin and to support the monks who performed good practices. Later, there were devotees to bring the Kathin cloth to the monks after the end of Buddhist Lent. Therefore, this ritual is called Kathin merit making tradition up to the present.

Kathin Ceremony of Ummao Sub-district people has developed continuously from the traditional Kathin ceremony, rooted in the discipline of commandments in two forms: the Kathin with the host and Kathin unity. Later, there is an integration according to the era. The offering of cloth therefore popularly uses ready-made robes as Kathin fabric. There is a collection of money dedicated to the Kathin as a part of donation. It is a good tradition to promote unity of the people in the community. The desirable form of Kathin ceremony consisted of maintaining the discipline, adhering to the form of ordinances that promote self-sufficiency, unity and wisdom. This is a pattern that emphasizes the preservation of the Kathin tradition as a good tradition for the community to support and promote the Kathin merit-making tradition of Ummao Sub-district, Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province as a good role model for the coming generations.
