งานวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาแนวคิดเรื่องอวตารในปรัชญาฮินดู 2) ศึกษาแนวคิดเรื่องนารายณ์อวตาร และ 3) วิเคราะห์แนวคิดเรื่องนารายณ์อวตารในปรัชญาฮินดู เป็นการวิจัยเชิงเอกสาร (Documentary Research) โดยการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากเอกสารปฐมภูมิ และทุติยภูมิ แล้วนำข้อมูลมาวิเคราะห์ด้วยพรรณนาวิธี

         ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 

         1. แนวคิดการอวตารคือ การแบ่งภาคหรือการลงมาของเทพเจ้าสู่โลกมนุษย์ ด้วยมีพันธกิจสำคัญในการลงมาปราบ สั่งสอน และชี้นำหนทางไปสู่สัจธรรมสูงสุด การสำแดงรูปขององค์อวตารนั้นปรากฏในรูปมนุษย์ อมนุษย์ และสัตว์ แต่ยังคงดำรงคุณสมบัติเฉกเช่นเดียวกับพระเจ้าคือ ทรงไว้ด้วยมหิทธานุภาพ ความเป็นสัพพัญญู และปรากฏพระองค์ในทุกหนทุกแห่ง

         2. การอวตารของพระนารายณ์ล้วนแล้วมีความเกี่ยวข้องสัมพันธ์กัน แสดงให้เห็นถึงการสรรเสริญพระนารายณ์ให้เป็นที่นับถืออย่างสูงสุดในฐานะเทพองค์หนึ่ง แสดงให้เห็นถึงความเมตตาของเทพเจ้าที่ได้รับขนานพระนามว่าเป็นสิ่งธรรมชาติแท้จริงสูงสุด ไม่ว่าจะเป็นอยู่ในรูปร่างลักษณะแบบใดก็ตามมีบทบาทที่สอดคล้องกับการดำรงชีวิตไม่ว่าจะเป็นโครงสร้างทางสังคม วัฒนธรรม แนวคิดเรื่องนารายณ์อวตาร และวิธีการอวตารเช่นพระนารายณ์ที่จะเสด็จลงมาช่วยเหลือมวลมนุษย์เมื่อถึงยุคเข็ญบนโลกมนุษย์ 

          3. การอวตารของพระนารายณ์ในปรัชญาฮินดู แสดงให้เห็นวิวัฒนาการที่แบ่งออกได้เป็น ที่เป็นผู้สร้าง ผู้รักษา และผู้ทำลาย หมายถึง การเกิดขึ้น ตั้งอยู่ และดับไปในที่สุด ทำให้เห็นคุณค่าในฐานะเป้าหมายของชีวิต โดยการทำวิญญาณให้บริสุทธิ์ “อาตมัน” หลุดพ้นจากวัฏฏสงสาร “โมกษะ” เข้าถึงดินแดนแห่งพรหมอันสุขสบายชั่วนิรันดร

          The objectives of this research were: 1) study the concept of avatar in Hindu philosophy; 2) study the concept of Narayana avatar; 3) analyze the concept of Narayana avatar in Hindu philosophy. This study was a documentary research by collecting data from primary and secondary sources. The obtained data were analyzed by the descriptive method.

         The research results were as follows:

         1) The concept of avatar is division or descending of gods to the human world with an important mission to subdue, teach or guide the way to the highest truth. The avatar's manifestation appears in human, non-human, and animal forms, but still maintains the same qualities as God with highness, omniscience and everywhere appearance.

         2) The manifestation of Narayana is all related and showed the praise of Narayana as the highest one of the deities. It shows the mercy of the gods who have been called the title of the highest truth nature. Regardless of the physical form, there is a role that is relevant to life, whether it is a social structure, culture and the concept of Narayana avatar and how to incarnate such as Narayana who come down to help mankind in the era that the earth faced difficulties.

        3) The manifestation of Narayana in Hindu philosophy shows that evolution can be divided into being the creator, healer, and destroyer. This means arising, maintaining, and eventually extinguishing. It leads to seeing a value as the goal of life by purifying the spirit as ‘Atman’ or to free from the cycle of existence, or ‘Moksha’ or to reach the land of Brahma with eternal happiness.
