การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาสภาพการบริหารการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนา      2) เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการพัฒนาการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนา) เพื่อเสนอแนวทางการพัฒนาการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาของคณะสงฆ์ กรุงเทพมหานคร โดยใช้การวิจัยแบบผสมผสานระหว่างเชิงปริมาณและเชิงคุณภาพเครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยเป็นแบบสอบถามและสัมภาษณ์โดยมีกลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นพระสงฆ์ผู้ทำหน้าที่เผยแผ่ จำนวน 285 รูปและสัมภาษณ์ จำนวน 5 รูป วิเคราะห์โดยหาค่าเฉลี่ย   ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานและการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า

            สภาพการบริหารการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาของคณะสงฆ์ กรุงเทพมหานคร สรุปทุกด้านโดยภาพรวมมีความคิดเห็น อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง เรียงลำดับ ได้แก่ ด้านการบรรพชาสามเณรภาคฤดูร้อน ด้านงานพระธรรมทูต/นักเทศน์ ด้านหน่วยอบรมประชาชนประจำตำบล (อ.บ.ต.) ด้านงานอบรมจริยธรรมนักเรียนข้าราชการด้านการส่งเสริมหน่วยสงเคราะห์พุทธมามากะผู้เยาว์/เยาวชน และด้านการเผยแผ่ทางสื่อสารมวลชนตามลำดับ

          ผลการศึกษาแนวทางการพัฒนาการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนา ฝึกอบรมการเทศน์ การฝึกการบรรยาย มีบทบาทและเป็นแกนนำในการส่งเสริมกิจกรรมของวัดพัฒนางานร่วมกันกับท้องถิ่นหรือชุมชนนิมนต์พระภิกษุสงฆ์อบรมจริยธรรมให้แก่นักเรียนอย่างต่อเนื่อง มีการอบรมในช่วงวันเข้าพรรษากับทางหน่วยราชการและสถานศึกษา จัดหลักสูตรอบรม ส่งเสริมการบรรพชาสามเณรภาคฤดูร้อนอย่างต่อเนื่อง ส่งเสริมการเผยแผ่ทางวิทยุ โทรทัศน์ วารสาร นิตยสารเผยแผ่ธรรม 

          เสนอแนวทางการพัฒนาพระพุทธศาสนาของคณะสงฆ์ กรุงเทพมหานครโดยการส่งเสริมนำฝึกสมาธิพัฒนาทรัพยากรบุคคลเป็นแกนนำในการส่งเสริมกิจกรรมของวัด พัฒนางานร่วมกันกับท้องถิ่นหรือชุมชน จัดโครงการอบรมจริยธรรมนักเรียนข้าราชการ นำพานักเรียนปฏิบัติสมาธิในวันสำคัญทางพุทธศาสนา ส่งเสริมการบรรพชาสามเณรภาคฤดูร้อนทั้งด้านงบประมาณ สถานที่ สติปัญญา ร่วมมือกับชุมชนจัดหน่วยสงเคราะห์เด็กและเยาวชน เผยแผ่ทางวิทยุ โทรทัศน์ วารสาร นิตยสารเผยแผ่ธรรมผลิตสื่อหลากหลายให้ทันสมัย พร้อมทั้งส่งเสริมการเทศน์ด้วยภาษาที่เข้าใจง่าย

The objectives of this research were; 1) to study the state of Buddhist propagation, 2) to study a guideline of Buddhist propagation, and 3) to propose a guideline of Buddhist propagation development of the Sangha in Bangkok. The mixed research methodology was used in the study. The quantitative data were collected by questionnaires from 285 monks and analyzed by mean and standard deviation. The qualitative data were collected by in-depth interviews with 5 key-informants and analyzed by content analysis.           The results of the study found that:

The state of Buddhist propagation of the Sangha in Bangkok was at a moderate level overall. In details, the highest level was on summer novice ordination, Dhammaduta’s work, Dhamma training for people in sub-district, moral training for students and government officials, young Buddhists promotion, and Buddhist propagation by social media respectively.

            The results of Buddhist propagation development of the Sangha in Bangkok indicated that there were preaching training, lecture training, promoting temple activities together with community and local government, giving moral training to students, arranging special training in the Buddhist Lent with schools and government sectors, designing training courses, promoting summer novice ordination, and promoting Buddhist propagation on the radio, television, journals, magazines, and other media.

            A guideline of Buddhist propagation development of the Sangha in Bangkok was to promote meditation as the core of temple development, to develop religious work with cooperation of community and local government, to arrange training programs for students and government officials, to train students in meditation in important Buddhist holidays, to promote summer novice ordination, to provide welfare to children and youths, and to propagate Buddhist teachings and Sangha activities through the radio, television, journals, and other media in contemporary languages
