การศึกษาวิจัยเรื่อง ศึกษาวิเคราะห์อัตนิยมและปรัตถนิยมในภาพยนตร์เรื่อง“พันท้ายนรสิงห์” ในทัศนะของพุทธปรัชญาเถรวาทนี้ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ 3 ประการคือ 1) เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดเรื่องอัตนิยมและ ปรัตถนิยมในพุทธปรัชญาเถรวาท 2) เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดเรื่องอัตนิยมและปรัตถนิยมในภาพยนตร์เรื่อง “พันท้ายนรสิงห์” 3) เพื่อวิเคราะห์แนวคิดเรื่องอัตนิยมและปรัตถนิยมในภาพยนตร์เรื่อง “พันท้ายนรสิงห์” ในทัศนะของพุทธปรัชญาเถรวาท การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพแบบเอกสาร

 ผลจากการวิจัยพบว่า

แนวคิดอัตนิยมในพุทธปรัชญาเถรวาทมีความหมายที่ตรงกับความเห็นแก่ตัวมีพฤติกรรมที่ผู้กระทำได้มุ่งเพื่อประโยชน์ตนเองเป็นหลัก ส่วนแนวคิดปรัตถนิยมเป็นการช่วยเหลือผู้อื่นให้พ้นทุกข์หรือช่วยเหลือสังคมในส่วนรวม ซึ่งมีความสอดคล้องกับหลักการปฏิบัติในพุทธปรัชญาเถรวาททางด้านการบำเพ็ญทานบารมีอันเป็นไปเพื่อประโยชน์สุขของตนเองและผู้อื่นรวมไปถึงประโยชน์ทั้งสองฝ่ายอีกด้วย

งานวิจัยนี้ให้เหตุผลว่า ในทัศนะของพุทธปรัชญาเถรวาท การกระทำที่เป็นไปเพื่อประโยชน์ตนเอง คืออัตนิยมนั้นอาจจะเอื้อประโยชน์ให้ผู้อื่นได้ด้วยเช่นเดียวกัน เพราะแม้ว่าจะเป็นการกระทำเพื่อมุ่งประโยชน์ส่วนตน ก็ยังเกิดผลได้ทั้งกุศลกรรมและอกุศลกรรม และการกระทำเพื่อมุ่งประโยชน์ผู้อื่นคือ ปรัตถนิยม แต่ผู้กระทำเองก็ได้รับประโยชน์ด้วยกันแล้วต่างก็มีคุณค่าทางศีลธรรมทั้งสองแนวคิด และผู้กระทำก็มีสิทธิเสรีภาพในการเลือกกระทำไปตามแนวคิดใดแนวคิดหนึ่งจากทั้งสองแนวคิดนี้ เพียงแต่ทว่าต้องมีความรอบคอบในการเลือกแล้วควรเลือกด้วยสติปัญญาอันแยบคาย นอกจากนี้ ยังพบว่า อัตนิยมกับปรัตถนิยมนั้น ได้มีนัยยะแห่งความสอดคล้องที่ช่วยส่งเสริมซึ่งกันและกันได้อย่างลงตัวเป็นอย่างดี

บทคัดย่อภาษาอังกฤษ

               The thesis entitled “A Critical Study of Egoism and Altruism in the Movie “Phanthai Norasing” in Theravada Buddhist Philosophical Perspectives.” has three objectives: 1) to study egoism and altruism in Theravada Buddhism, 2) to study egoism and altruism in the movie, and 3) to analyze egoism and altruism in the movie from Theravada Buddhist philosophical perspectives.

                      This research is a documentary research.

                    Subjectivism in Theravada Buddhist philosophy has a meaning that corresponds to selfishness, having behaviors that the doer has aimed primarily at self-interest. The concept of pratthaism is to help others to escape suffering or contribute to society as a whole, which is in line with the Theravada Buddhist philosophy of asceticism which is for the benefit of oneself and others, as well as for the benefit of both parties.

                 This research argues that, in the view of Theravada Buddhist philosophy, Actions that are self-interest Subjectivity may also benefit others. Because even if it is an act for personal gain, it can still have both charitable and uncharitable effects, and the act for the benefit of others is pragmatism, but the doer himself benefits together and has moral values in both concepts, and the doer has the right to freedom to choose to act according to either of these two concepts. But one must be careful in choosing and should choose with ingenious wisdom. In addition, it has been found that subjectivism and pragmatism have a sense of consistency that complements each other perfectly.
