บทคัดย่อภาษาไทย

                  This research studied of enhancing English - speaking skills using 4MAT teaching model of grade III students at Anuban Hankha (Wattakitsana-Suchaiprachasan) school. The purposes of this research were 1) to study 4MAT instruction on speaking skills for Grade III students at Anuban Hankha (Wattakitsana-Suchaiprachasan) school 2) to compare English speaking skills before and after studying 4MAT instruction 3) to study the satisfaction after using 4MAT instruction to developing English speaking skills. This study was used quasi - experimental research used 4MAT learning theory. Research area was Anuban Hankha (Wattakitsana-Suchaiprachasan) school, Chai Nat Province. The sampling group was 30 students at grade III, room number 3 in the second semester of the 2022 academic year at Anuban Hankha (Wattakitsana-Suchaiprachasan) school  by purposive sampling. The research instruments consisted of 8 lesson plans taught by 4MAT instruction, English speaking proficiency tests, and studentssatisfaction questionnaire.   The data were analyzed by percentage , mean, and standard deviation.

 

The results of this research were found that:

                        1. 4MAT instruction had 4 quadrants and every quadrant could pair into 2 steps, so 4MAT instruction has 8 steps to use in learning plans as follows:

                         Step 1. Connect: remind personal experiences that relate to the concepts being taught.

Step 2. Attend: analyze and reflect the experiences in step1.

Step 3. Image: integrate personal experiences for concepts being taught.

Step 4. Inform: teach the concepts, principle, and rules.

Step 5. Practice: practice defined concepts, principle, and rules.

Step 6. Extend: add practice for full understanding and verify knowledge.

Step 7. Refine: analyze usefulness of what has been learned.

Step 8. Perform: discover how to apply knowledge and share it with others.

                        2. The results of comparison scores before and after studying 4MAT instruction found about the achievement after studying 4MAT instruction was higher than before studying 4MAT instruction, the score of  pre-test at  ( )= 7.50, S.D. = 2.43, and score of post-tests at ( )= 14.46 S.D. = 4.24.

                        3. Studentssatisfaction after studying 4MAT instruction was an average mean score at 4.43 at the high level.
