บทคัดย่อภาษาไทย
This thesis entitled “A Task-Based Learning Approach to Improve Students’ English-Speaking Skills at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University” has three objectives: 1) to create a task-based learning approach to improve students’ English-speaking skills at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, 2) to compare students’ English-speaking skills after using a task-based on learning approach at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University and 3) to study students' satisfaction with a task-based on learning approach by using the Likert scale assessment. The study is quantitative research using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The researcher used a questionnaire to collect quantitative data from 10 students’ satisfaction in this study. For analyzing quantitative data statistics including Percentage, Mean, and Standard Deviation (SD) is used and content analysis is used for research for analyzing qualitative data. The results of the study were found that:
1. Research results on "A Task-Based Learning Approach to Improve Students' English-Speaking Skills at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University" after using the created plans had a higher level than before using the created plans, the average score for English-speaking skills before using a task-based on learning approach was 7.90, and the average score for English-speaking skills after using the learning approach was 10.70. The difference between before and after using a task-based learning approach was 3.628 by t-test, studying with a task-based on learning approach has higher academic achievement than before reviewing with statistical significance at .01.
2. The satisfaction of the sample group of students towards the task-based on learning approach after studying 8 lessons was a very satisfactory level, considered all 3 aspects, namely, teaching content, learning management, and received benefits have similar averages, it was found that the items with the highest average were the teaching contents that challenge the ability of the students to develop students English-speaking skills, as well as the learning activities encourage learners to prepare themselves for a task, and the last item with the same score is the task activities can improve students’ English-speaking skills in the received benefit section with an average = 5.00, S.D. = 0.00.
