The thesis entitled The Practical Ways of Contemplation on Feelings (Vedanā-Nupassanā) in Theravāda Buddhism, consists of three objectives namely: 1) To examine the practical ways concerning contemplation on feelings (vedanā-nupassanā), based on Mahasi Sayadaw, Wat Mahādhātu, and Bhaddanta Wirosana Sayādaw’s center, 2) To study the concept of contemplation on feelings (vedanā-nupassanā) mentioned in Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna- Sutta; 3) To apply practical ways of contemplation on feelings (vedanā-nupassanā), in Theravāda Buddhism to daily life. This thesis is qualitative research using documents, research contemplation on feelings, and in-depth interviews.

The findings found that the section on the contemplation of feelings (vedanā-nupassanā) discusses, the major bodily postures as objects to learn and to see things as they are by observing. In meditation, the three meditation centers emphasise the rising and falling abdominal movements all the time as a primary exercise. Knowing the processes of emerging and passing, which are the sources of being things and suffering, is the goal of this practice and its greatest value. The feeling is the second foundation of mindfulness that the Buddha gave in the Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna- Sutta.  It can know and understand the feeling of daily activities from meditation practice. It is divided into five categories of mindful activities in daily life: 1) Mindful working, 2) Mindful daily activities, 3) Mindful travelling, 4) Mindful sports activities, and 5) Mindful using the smartphone for social media. Although this manual is for everyone interested in it, including monks, there are more benefits for the meditators who have some knowledge of Satipaṭṭhāna Vipassanā meditation or practice. The manual can be utilized by all levels of meditators.
