บทคัดย่อภาษาไทย

This research has 3 objectives as the following, 1) to study the religious news headlines used in The Nation, 2) to find out the number of religious news headlines used and what the religious news headlines’ syntactic structures are used in them, 3) to analyze the language stylistics and their variation in word choice and sentence structures, figurative language, and writing orders. The quantitative research is designed for this study. This research is also used for explaining and finding details of the language stylistics and their variations in terms of word choice and sentence structures, figurative language and writing orders. The findings of this research provide a comprehensive understanding of the linguistic aspects of religious news reporting. The study found that a total of 109 religious news headlines were collected, offering valuable insights into the relevance and attention that religious news receives in Thai society, shedding light on the importance of a diversified news agenda in catering to the diverse interests and information needs of the public. The headline patterns and statistical measures revealed techniques used to capture readers' attention, and the use of different tenses and punctuation marks, highlighting the significance of presenting a balanced and comprehensive view of religion in headlines, covering both positive and negative aspects. Also, the study identified 8 different types of variations, emphasizing the importance of understanding and respecting different perspectives and cultural norms in effective communication and harmonious social relationships. The study contributes to the understanding of language variations in the context of religion and underscores the need to consider these variations in effective communication. It also provides valuable insights into the linguistic characteristics and rhetorical techniques used in religious news headlines, shedding light on their complexity and impact.
