บทคัดย่อภาษาไทย

วิทยานิพนธ์นี้ทำการศึกษาวิเคราะห์เรื่องฤกษ์ตามคัมภีร์โหราศาสตร์ไทย ที่มีผลต่อพุทธศาสนิกชน มีวัตถุประสงค์ ดังนี้ 1.เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดความเชื่อเรื่องฤกษ์ที่ปรากฏในคัมภีร์โหราศาสตร์ไทย 2.เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดเรื่องฤกษ์ในคัมภีร์พระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาท 3.เพื่อศึกษาวิเคราะห์เรื่องฤกษ์ที่ปรากฏในคัมภีร์โหราศาสตร์ไทยที่มีผลต่อพุทธศาสนิกชน

จากการศึกษาโดยออกแบบเป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพใช้วิธีการศึกษาจากเอกสาร และการสัมภาษณ์ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าความเชื่อเรื่องฤกษ์ที่ปรากฏในคัมภีร์โหราศาสตร์ไทยนั้นมีการศึกษากันมายาวนานตั้งแต่ครั้งกรุงสุโขทัยเป็นราชธานี พระยาลิไท ทรงเชี่ยวชาญในคัมภีร์สุริยยาตรและทรงสนับสนุนให้มี การศึกษาวิชาโหราศาสตร์สำหรับผู้ที่ต้องการศึกษาเล่าเรียนโดยไม่จำกัดว่าเป็นหญิงหรือชาย จะเห็นได้จากพระมหากษัตริย์ในสมัยต่อๆ มาจากราชวงศ์พระร่วงเจ้าก็ยังคงศึกษาและยึดถือในเรื่องฤกษ์จะเห็นได้จากพระฤกษ์ที่พระมหากษัตริย์ทรงเลือกใช้ให้เหมาะกับพระราชกรณียกิจต่างๆ เพื่อให้เกิดผลดีป้องกันผลเสียให้กับบ้านเมืองและบุคคล ในสังคมปัจจุบันยังมีความเชื่อเรื่องการขอฤกษ์เพื่อประกอบกิจการมงคลต่างๆ เพราะวิถีชีวิตของคนไทยยังยึดถือตามขนบธรรมเนียมประเพณีที่สืบทอดต่อกันมาจากรุ่นสู่รุ่น ทำให้ความเชื่อเรื่องการใช้ฤกษ์ยังยึดถือปฏิบัติสืบต่อกันมา โดยมุ่งหวังให้มีความสำเร็จ ความเจริญรุ่งเรืองในหน้าที่การงาน และก่อให้เกิดความสุขต่อตนเอง ต่อสถาบันครอบครัว และต่อสังคมโดยรวมอีกด้วย

การศึกษาแนวคิดเรื่องฤกษ์ที่ปรากฏในคัมภีร์พระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาท พระพุทธองค์ไม่ได้ทรงสอนให้เชื่อในอิทธิพลของดวงดาว แต่ทรงสอนให้เชื่อในเรื่องของกรรม พระพุทธองค์ทรงมีพุทธานุญาติให้พระภิกษุที่อยู่ป่า หรืออยู่ในเขตใกล้ชิดกับชาวบ้านศึกษาในเรื่องของดาวนักษัตรได้ เพื่อเป็นประโยชน์ในการลงอุโบสถ มิใช่นำมาใช้ในการทำนายทายทัก

การศึกษาแนวคิดความเชื่อเรื่องฤกษ์ที่ปรากฏในคัมภีร์โหราศาสตร์ไทย ที่มีผลต่อพุทธศาสนิกชน พบว่าพุทธมีความเชื่อขั้นพื้นฐานอันประกอบด้วย 1. ความเชื่อในศาสนา 2. ความเชื่อในสถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์ 3. ความเชื่อในประเพณีที่ยึดถือสืบทอดกันมา 4. ความเชื่อในโหราศาสตร์ การพยากรณ์ การให้ฤกษ์ยามที่เป็นมงคล นอกจากนั้นชาวพุทธยังมีความเชื่อใน เรื่อง บาป บุญคุณโทษ เชื่อในกรรมความเชื่อในเรื่องฤกษ์ที่ส่งผลต่อชาวพุทธนั้นเป็นการผสมผสานกันในด้านการทำบุญทางพระพุทธศาสนาเข้าไปด้วย เพื่อเป็นไปในด้านขวัญกำลังใจ เพิ่มความเชื่อมั่น ในทุกกิจการที่ประกอบให้เกิดประโยชน์ในหลายด้าน เช่น เพื่อประโยชน์สุขส่วนตัว เพื่อประโยชน์ในส่วนรวม และสังคม เป็นการแสดงถึงความสัมพันธ์ที่มีอิทธิพลในการดำเนินชีวิตของชาวพุทธตั้งแต่อดีตจนมาถึงปัจจุบัน

การศึกษาวิเคราะห์เรื่องฤกษ์ที่ปรากฏในคัมภีร์โหราศาสตร์ไทยมีผลต่อพุทธศาสนิกชนนั้นส่งผลในเรื่องจิตใจ ทำให้มีความมั่นใจในการประกอบอาชีพ การพัฒนาศักยภาพทั้งส่วนตัวและสังคมโดยรวม ถึงแม้หลักคำสอนของพระพุทธศาสนาจะไม่ส่งเสริมให้เชื่อในเรื่องของฤกษ์ยาม แต่สิ่งเหล่านี้ได้กลายเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญในการดำรงชีวิตไม่สามารถแยกออกจากกันได้ ดังนั้น พุทธศาสนิกชนควรยึดถือหลักคำสอนของพระพุทธองค์ควบคู่ไปกับความเชื่อในเรื่องฤกษ์

บทคัดย่อภาษาอังกฤษ

This thesis entitled ‘An Analytical Study of Auspicious Time Through Thai Astrological Scriptures Effected to Thai Buddhists’ has three objectives: 1) to study the ideas and belief in the auspicious time as appeared in Thai astrology, 2) to study the ideas of auspicious time in Theravada Buddhist scriptures, and 3) to analytical study the ideas of auspicious time as appeared in Thai astrology affecting upon Buddhist people. This research is conducted with the “Documentary Research” and the deep interviews.

From the study, it can be found that, the ideas of the auspicious time as appeared in Thai astrology have been being studied for long times since the capital of Sukhothai where the King named Lithai became an expertise in the scripture on the move of the sun by which he supported to follow. According to the astrological subject, all can study it irrespective of male or female. In this matter, the examples could be clearly shown when this subject has been being studied by the later generations of king by which it should be properly used in accordance with various kinds of affairs with a view to protecting the bad outcome to the country and people. In current society the belief in auspicious times for doing propitious thing had been continuous because the flock ways of life for Thai people still keep along the old tradition from generation to generation.  The objective for believing in Auspicious  times are the successful and proper in career, it can make the happiness to oneself, to family institution and to Thai society also.

In the study of the ideas on the auspicious time in Theravada Buddhist scripture, it was found that the Buddha never teaches people to be influenced by the power of stars but teaches people to follow the law of Kamma. Buddhist monks were allowed to live in the forest or nearby the area of village and being allowed to study the movement of stars in order to make use of knowledge for the sake of the observance, not for the sake of fortune-telling.

With respect to the belief in the auspicious time as appeared in Thai astrology affecting upon Buddhist people, it showed that most of Buddhist people have basic 1. belief in religion, 2. King institution, 3. Tradition, 4. Astrology, fortune-telling and auspicious time-telling. Besides, they belief in the sin, merit and Kamma. Such believes have been being mixed with making merit in Buddhist belief where the encouragement and confidence have been raised while doing certain activities for the benefit of oneself, public and society. This could be claimed that the relationship of the belief in auspicious time and Buddhism have been connected and being somehow affected upon Buddhist people’s ways of life since the past till the present.

An Analytical Study of Auspicious Time Through Thai Astrological Scriptures Effected to Thai Buddhists in mind, it make more strong confidence , more poitential in one self and society. Even though Buddhist scripture does not support in Auspicious time but these things become the important part  in Buddhist people’s life it can not separate.  Buddhist people should be followed our Lord Buddha’s doctrine and use the Auspicious time simultaneously.
