                    การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาพิธีกรรมการบูชาปู่ตา ของชาวบ้านสงยาง ตำบลสะอาดสมบูรณ์ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด 2) เพื่อศึกษาหลักธรรมที่เกี่ยวกับพิธีกรรมการบูชาปู่ตา ของชาวบ้านสงยาง ตำบลสะอาดสมบูรณ์ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด

                 รูปแบบวิธีวิจัยเป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research) ผู้วิจัยทำการศึกษาค้นคว้าและรวบรวมข้อมูลจากเอกสารที่เกี่ยวข้อง เพื่อนำมากำหนดเป็นคำถามในการวิจัย พื้นที่วิจัย ได้แก่ บ้านสงยาง ตำบลสะอาดสมบูรณ์ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด กลุ่มเป้าหมายในการเก็บข้อมูล ได้แก่ พระสงฆ์ กระจ้ำ ผู้นำชุมชน ผู้สูงอายุในหมู่บ้าน และผู้เข้าร่วมพิธี โดยใช้วิธีการสัมภาษณ์แล้ว นำมาวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยวิธีอุปนัย และนำเสนอข้อมูลโดยวิธีการพรรณนา

                    ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ชาวบ้านสงยาง ได้ทำพิธีกรรมการบูชาปู่ตา ตามความเชื่อทางใจที่ว่า สามารถทำให้คนในครอบครัวมีความสุข ไม่มีความเดือดร้อนจากอันตรายที่มองไม่เห็น ทำให้อยู่เย็นเป็นสุข มีความเจริญยิ่งๆ ขึ้นไป และยังเชื่ออีกว่า ปู่ตานั้นจะช่วยปกป้องคุ้มครองดลบันดาลให้เกิดความอุดมสมบูรณ์ในหมู่บ้าน จึงได้ทำพิธีกรรมการบูชาปู่ตาในระหว่างเดือน 3 และเดือน 6 เป็นประจำทุกปี โดยจัดเรือนที่พักหลังเล็ก ๆ ไว้เป็นที่อยู่อาศัยของปู่ตา พร้อมทั้งถวายรูปปั้นม้า ช้าง วัว ควายไว้เป็นข้าทาสบริวารค่อยรับใช้ ตลอดถึงพวงมาลัยดอกไม้ธูปเทียนเพื่อให้คนบูชาปู่ตา และหลักธรรมที่เกี่ยวกับการพิธีกรรมการบูชาปู่ตาคือ หลักแห่งกรรม หลักความเชื่อ หลักความสามัคคี หลักศีล 5 หลักความกตัญญูกตเวที และหลักความอ่อนน้อมถ่อมตน ซึ่งถือว่าเป็นหลักธรรมที่เกี่ยวข้องกับพิธีกรรมการบูชาปู่ตาอันเป็นผลให้เกิดความสงบสุขของคนในหมู่บ้านต่อไป                  

บทคัดย่อภาษาอังกฤษ

                   The thesis entitled “A Study of the Buddhist Doctrines Relating to the Ritual of Ancestor Worship of Song Yang Villagers, Sa-at Sombun Subdistrict, Mueang District, Roi Et Province” consists of two objectives: 1) to study the ritual of ancestor worship of Song Yang villagers, Sa-at Sombun subdistrict, Mueang district, Roi Et province; and 2) to study the Buddhist doctrines relating to the ritual of ancestor worship of Song Yang villagers, Sa-at Sombun subdistrict, Mueang district, Roi Et province. This is qualitative research with the data collection employed from relevant documents to determine the research question. The research area is Song Yang villagers, Sa-at Sombun subdistrict, Mueang district, Roi Et province. The target group for data collection consists of monks, community leaders, the elderly in the village and those who attend the ritual through the method of interviews. The data are analyzed using inductive methods and presented using descriptive methods.

                  The study shows that the ritual of ancestor worship (or Pu Ta ritual: grandparent) of Song Yang villagers is performed according to the belief that it can make the family happy, peaceful, prosperous and free from any unseen dangers. Moreover, it is also believed that the ancestors can help protect and cause the village to be fertile, therefore, the ritual is usually performed during the 3rd and 6th month on an annual basis. The ritual includes the arrangement of a small house as the residence for the ancestors, as well as offering statues of horses, elephants, cows and buffalos as servants. Flowers, incense and candles are also offered for people to worship the ancestors. The Buddhist doctrines relating to the ritual of ancestor worship are the law of Kamma, Belief, Unity, the Five Precepts, Gratefulness, and Humility. The application of these doctrines will result in the peacefulness of the villagers.
