บทคัดย่อภาษาไทย

               งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 3 ข้อคือ (1) เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดเรื่องโรคในตำราแพทย์แผนไทยเดิม (2) เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดเรื่องโรคในพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาท (3) เพื่อศึกษาวิเคราะห์เรื่องโรคในตำราแพทย์แผนไทยกับพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาท                                         

                  ผลของการวิจัยพบว่า การแพทย์แผนไทยถือว่า โรคหรือ การเจ็บป่วยนั้นมีสาเหตุมาจากความไม่สมดุลภายในตัวผู้ป่วย หรือไม่สมดุลกับสิ่งภายนอกและสิ่งแวดล้อม สมดุลต่างๆ ในเรื่ององค์ประกอบของร่างกายมนุษย์ที่ประกอบด้วยธาตุสี่ คือ ดิน น้ำ ลม ไฟ  ส่วนโรคในทางพระพุทธศาสนานั้นประกอบด้วยโรคทางกาย โรคทางใจ คือ ความเจ็บไข้ ความเจ็บป่วย ความไม่สบาย โรคประจำตัวโรคที่ติดตัวอยู่ประจำรักษาไม่หาย ซึ่งเป็นปัญหาของมนุษย์ทุกคน ปัญหาของชีวิตคือทุกข์ อาจเป็นโรคแอบแฝงตัว โดยที่ไม่มีการผิดปกติออกมา ภาวะผิดปกติที่เกิดขึ้น ทำให้รู้สึกไม่สบาย เสียดแทงให้เจ็บปวด หรือมีอาการที่ผิดปกติแสดงออกมาให้เห็น

                  ผลการวิเคราะห์โรคในทางแพทย์แผนไทยและพระพุทธศาสนานั้นที่เหมือนกันคือโรคและการรักษานั้น จะเป็นไปในลักษณะของหลักธรรมคือ อริยสัจสี่ ซึ่งประกอบด้วย โรค คือ ทุกข์ สุมฎฐานของโรค คือสมุทัย การรักษาให้หายนั้นคือ นิโรธ และวิธีการรักษานั้น คือ มรรค ซึ่งโรค และที่ต่างกันคือ วิธีการรักษาแพทย์แผนไทยรักษาให้หายได้ในระดับโลกียะ แต่ในทางพระพุทธศาสนานั้น สามารถหายจากโรคในระดับโลกียะและสามารถพ้นทุกข์เข้าถึงโลกุตรได้

บทคัดย่อภาษาอังกฤษ

The thesis entitled “An analytical study of diseases in the textbooks of Thai traditional medicine and diseases in Buddhism” consisted of 3 objectives, namely: (1) to study the concept of diseases in the textbooks of Thai traditional medicines, (2) to study the concept of diseases in Theravada Buddhism, and (3) to study and analyze diseases in the textbooks of Thai traditional medicine and diseases in Theravada Buddhism.

 From the study, it was found that Thai traditional medicine showed that diseases or illness were caused by the imbalance within the body of the patient, or the body was not balanced with the external and environmental factors. The various balances in the composition of the human body consisted of four elements: earth, water, air, and fire. The diseases in Buddhism consisted of physical and mental diseases, namely: illness, sickness, contagious diseases, and incurable diseases. These were problems of all human beings. The problem of life was suffering. It may be a hidden disease without any showingof abnormality. The abnormal conditions which resulted in discomfort, pain, or abnormal symptoms.                                                                   The analysis results of diseases in Thai traditional medicine and Buddhism showed the similarity between diseases and treatment that both of them were according to the Buddhist teaching on the Four Noble Truths (Ariyasaccāni) consisting: diseases representedDhukka, causes of diseases representedSamuadaya, the cure of diseases representedNirodha, and the path to the cure of diseases representedMagga. While the difference showed that the cures of Thai traditional medicine for diseases were the worldly health.But, in Buddhism, the cures of diseases were not only in worldly health but also in the supermundane health.
