              การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาชีวประวัติและผลงานของพระครูบูรพาภิวัฒน์ (หลวงปู่สุข ยโสธโร) 2) เพื่อศึกษาบทบาทการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาของพระครูบูรพาภิวัฒน์ (หลวงปู่สุข ยโสธโร) และ 3) เพื่อศึกษาการนำหลักธรรมจากการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาของพระครูบูรพาภิวัฒน์ (หลวงปู่สุข ยโสธโร) ไปประยุกต์ใช้ในการดำเนินชีวิต

             รูปแบบวิธีวิจัยเป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research) ผู้วิจัยทำการศึกษาค้นคว้าและรวบรวมข้อมูลจากเอกสารที่เกี่ยวข้อง เพื่อนำมากำหนดเป็นคำถามในการวิจัย พื้นที่วิจัย ได้แก่ บ้านหนองบัว ตำบลหนองบัว อำเภออาจสามารถ จังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด กลุ่มเป้าหมายในการเก็บข้อมูล ได้แก่ พระสงฆ์ ผู้นำชุมชน ปราชญ์ชาวบ้าน และชาวบ้านทั่วไป จำนวนทั้งหมด 20/คน โดยใช้วิธีการสัมภาษณ์แล้ว นำมาวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยวิธีอุปนัย และนำเสนอข้อมูลโดยวิธีการพรรณนา

             ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 

             ชีวประวัติและผลงานของพระครูบูรพาภิวัฒน์ (หลวงปู่สุข ยโสธโร) ท่านเป็นคนอำเภออาจสามารถโดยกำเนิด ได้บรรพชาอุปสมบทที่อำเภออาจสามารถ สมณศักดิ์และตำแหน่งทางคณะสงฆ์ ได้รับการแต่งตั้งเป็นพระครูชั้นโท เมื่อวันที่ 26กุมภาพันธ์ 2533 ก่อนจะมรณภาพด้วยอาการสงบ ในคืนวันที่ 9 มิถุนายนพ.ศ. 2548เวลา 19.30 น. รวมสิริอายุได้ 89 ปี อายุพรรษา 69 พรรษา ผลงานด้านการปกครองการปกครอง ได้ยึดถือการปฏิบัติตามพระธรรมวินัยอันเป็นพระพุทธบัญญัติ มิได้ปฏิรูปให้แปรเปลี่ยนไปตามผู้ปฏิบัติ จนถึงด้านการสาธารณสงเคราะห์ ได้ช่วยเหลือเกื้อกูลด้วยวัตถุสิ่งของอันเป็นการบรรเทาทุกข์ทางกาย ส่วนการบรรเทาทุกข์ทางใจ ได้นำเอาหลักธรรมเป็นแนวทางเครื่องเตือนใจให้มีความเข้มแข็ง อดทนสู้กับความทุกข์ยากลำบากได้อย่างมีสติ 

           บทบาทการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาของพระครูบูรพาภิวัฒน์ (หลวงปู่สุข ยโสธโร) พบว่า ท่านได้สอนให้พระภิกษุสามเณรรู้และเข้าใจคำสอนอันเป็นหัวใจหลักในพระพุทธศาสนา กล่าวคือ การละชั่ว ทำดี และทำจิตใจของตนให้บริสุทธิ์ผ่องใส และท่านได้นำหลักของการทำบุญ และหลักฆราวาสธรรม มาเผยแผ่เพื่อให้ประชาชนเกิดความรู้ความเข้าใจและปฏิบัติตามได้อย่างถูกต้อง สามารถนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในการดำเนินชีวิต เพื่อเกิดความอยู่เย็นเป็นสุขของคนชุมชนต่อไป 

บทคัดย่อภาษาอังกฤษ

              The thesis entitled “Luang Pu Suk Yasodharo (Buakeaw)'s Roles of Propagation of Buddhism” consisted of the following objectives: 1) to study the biography and works of Luang Pu Suk (Suk Yasodharo); 2) to study Luang Pu Suk Yasodharo’s roles of propagation of Buddhism; and 3) to study the application of the Dhamma obtained from the propagation of Buddhism of Luang Pu Suk (Suk Yasodharo) to use in daily life. 

             The study was a qualitative research in which the researcher studied, researched, and collected data from related documents in order to identify the research question. The research area was Baan Nong Bua, Nong Bua subdistrict, Samat district, Roi Et province. The data group for data collection consisted of monks, community leaders, local scholars and general villagers by means of an interview. The acquired data were analyzed using the inductive method and presented in a descriptive method.

             From studying the biography and works of Luang Pu Suk (Suk Yasodharo), it was found that he has ordination at Samat district where he was born. His latest monastic honorific rank and position in the Sangha was “Phrakhru Chan Tho” (second rank) which was appointed on 26 February 1990 (B.E. 2533). Luang Pu Suk passed away on 9 June 2005 (B.E. 2548) at 19.30 when he was 89 years old with 69 years of ordination. His works involved many aspects ranging from government, by which he adhered to the observation of Dhamma-Vinaya which was according to the Buddha’s original teachings that had not changed or reformed according to the practitioners, to public welfare where he sent necessary items to help those having physical suffering which was considered a mindful approach in relieving the suffering of people. 

             From studying Luang Pu Suk Yasodharo’s roles of propagation of Buddhism, it was found that the Dhamma which was the core of Buddhism that he taught to the monks and novices consisted of abstaining from bad deeds, conducting only good deeds and purifying the mind until one can eventually realize Nibbāna. Moreover, Luang Pu Suk Yasodharo also taught the teaching on merit-making or Puññakiriyā-vatthu (the three bases of meritorious action) which were dāna (giving), sīla (precepts), and bhavanā (meditation), as well as the teaching on Gharāvāsa-dhamma (virtues for a good household) for the general public to have the knowledge and understand so that they would be able to follow the correct practice and apply in daily life which would result in peace upon themselves and the community.
