วิทยานิพนธ์ เรื่อง “การศึกษาแนวทางการประยุกต์ใช้หลักไตรลักษณ์เพื่อการบรรเทาทุกข์ของคนในสังคมปัจจุบัน” มีวัตถุประสงค์ ๓ ประการ คือ (1) เพื่อศึกษาหลักไตรลักษณ์ในพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาท (2) เพื่อศึกษาทุกข์ของคนในสังคมปัจจุบัน (3) เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการประยุกต์ใช้หลักไตรลักษณ์เพื่อการบรรเทาทุกข์ของคนในสังคมปัจจุบัน การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัย เชิงคุณภาพและการสัมภาษณ์ประชากรกลุ่มตัวอย่างในจังหวัดบุรีรัมย์ 5 อำเภอ จำนวน 25รูป/คน 

      ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ไตรลักษณ์ (1) อนิจจตา ความไม่เที่ยง คือ สังขารทั้งปวงเป็นของ  ไม่เที่ยง (2) ทุกขตา ความเป็นทุกข์ คือ สังขารทั้งปวงเป็นทุกข์ และ (3) อนัตตตา ความเป็นของไม่     ใช่ตัวตน คือ สังขารทั้งหลายทั้งปวงเป็นของไม่ใช่ตัวไม่ใช่ตน สิ่งมีชีวิตและไม่มีชีวิตทั้งหลาย ตกอยู่ในอำนาจของไตรลักษณ์

      ทุกข์ของคนในสังคมจังหวัดบุรีรัมย์ โดยรวมมี 2 ประการ (1) กายิกทุกข์ เป็นทุกข์ทางกาย คือ การที่ร่างกายไม่ปรกติ ร่างกายพิการ มีโรคภัยเบียดเบียน และ (2) เจตสิกทุกข์ เป็นทุกข์ทางใจ คือ ความเสียใจ ความพลัดพรากจากของรักของชอบใจ จิตหวั่นไหวไปกับอารมณ์ที่ไม่น่าปรารถนา และทุกข์ทั่วไป มีอีก 4 ด้าน คือ ด้านครอบครัว ด้านเศรษฐกิจ ด้านสังคม และด้านจิตใจ แนวทางการประยุกต์ใช้หลักไตรลักษณ์ในการบรรเทาทุกข์ของคนในสังคมปัจจุบัน และในจังหวัดบุรีรัมย์ มีปัญหาเรื่องทุกข์ทางกายและทุกข์ทางใจ โดยทั่วไปแล้วมีทุกข์อีก 4ด้าน คือ(1) ด้านครอบครัว (2) ด้านเศรษฐกิจ  (3) ด้านสังคม และ (4) ด้านจิตใจ ซึ่งการแก้ปัญหา 4 ด้านนี้ จะต้องรู้และเข้าใจในหลักไตรลักษณ์ คือ อนิจจตา รู้ว่าสรรพสิ่งต่างๆ มีการเปลี่ยนแปลง ทุกขตารู้ว่าการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสรรพสิ่งต่างๆ เป็นทุกข์ อนัตตตา รู้ว่าไม่สามารถควบคุมการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสรรพสิ่งต่างๆ ได้ เมื่อเข้าใจหลักไตรลักษณ์นี้แล้วก็จะบรรเทาทุกข์ของคนในสังคมปัจจุบันได้

        This Thesis have three objectives namely : (1) to study the three characteristics of existence in Theravada Buddhism, (2) to study the people’s suffering in the present society, (3) to study the application on the three characteristics of existence in the Relieving of People’s Suffering in the Present Society. The research is qualitative research. 

        The result of research found that :

        The three characteristics of existence (Tilakkhana) are (1) Aniccatā ;  all conditioned things are impermanent, (2) Dukkhatā ; all conditioned things are subject to stress and conflict (suffering) and (3) Anattatā ; all things are not-self or soulless. Being and non-being are under the controller of the three characteristics of existence (Tilakkhana) 

         The suffering of people in Buriram province concluded into two kinds ;  (1) Kāyikadukkha ; physical suffering as abnormal body, disable body,  Infectious disease, and (2) Cetasikadukkha ; mental suffering as sadness, be stray from beloved things, mind fluent on non-beloved things and four kinds of general suffering are family, economic, social and mental suffering. 

        The application of the three characteristics of existence in relieving  of people’s suffering in the present society and in Buriram province is physical  and mental suffering. Generally, there are four kinds of suffering as (1) family  (2) economics (3) social and (4) mental. In the solution of four kinds of problem, we have to know and understand in the three characteristics of existence. Aniccatā ; to know that all things are changing, Dukkhatā ; to knows that the change of things is painful. Anattatā ; to knows that there is no control over the change of things. Once we understand this three characteristics of existence, it will alleviate the suffering of the people in the present.
