บทคัดย่อภาษาไทย

                  การศึกษาเรื่องนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาบทบาทของเครือข่ายชาวพุทธกับการอนุรักษ์ประเพณี 2) สภาพการอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาวของเครือข่ายชาวพุทธในจังหวัดหนองคายและนครหลวงเวียงจันทน์  และ 3) ศึกษาบทบาทของเครือข่ายชาวพุทธต่อการอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาวในจังหวัดหนองคายและนครหลวงเวียงจันทน์  การวิจัยครั้งนี้ เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research) โดยศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสาร และลงภาคสนามเพื่อทำการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล สัมภาษณ์ สรุปผลการวิจัยได้ดังนี้

                  ผลการวิจัยพบว่า บทบาทของเครือข่ายชาวพุทธในการอนุรักษ์ประเพณี พบว่า พระสงฆ์เป็นผู้ที่มีส่วนสำคัญมากเพราะอยู่ใกล้ชิดการอนุรักษ์ประเพณีและประชาชนมากที่สุด ดังนั้นพระสงฆ์จึงมีบทบาทสำคัญในการชักชวนหรือส่งเสริมการอนุรักษ์ประเพณี  พระสงฆ์แนะนำเรื่องประเพณีชาวบ้านมักจะเชื่อถือว่าเป็นคนมีศีล พูดอะไรชาวบ้านจะเชื่อ เพราะฉะนั้นในฐานะที่พระสงฆ์เป็นที่เคารพ และนับถือ ถ้าพระสงฆ์เป็นคนมีบทบาทในการอนุรักษ์ เป็นคนที่มีความรู้ ก็สามารถที่จะทำได้อย่างสำเร็จมีประสิทธิผล

                  สภาพการอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาว พบว่า การที่จะส่งเสริมอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาวนั้น ทำได้ยากมากเพราะไม่มีงบประมาณ ดังนั้นกระบวนการส่งเสริมอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาวจึงไม่เกิดขึ้นประชาชนไม่เห็นความสำคัญของอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาวไม่ตระหนักในเรื่องของศิลปวัฒนธรรมอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาว การอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาวนั้น ปัจจุบันนี้ก็ได้รับความร่วมมือจากหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องอยู่ ซึ่งจะเป็นการปลูกฝังให้ประชาชนในพื้นที่เกิดความรัก ความหวงแหนในอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาว ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับคำให้สัมภาษณ์ว่าปัจจุบัน ได้ดำเนินการปลูกฝังความรัก ความหวงแหนอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาว โดยผ่านกิจกรรมทางพระพุทธศาสนา

                   บทบาทของเครือข่ายชาวพุทธต่อการอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาวในจังหวัดหนองคายและนครหลวงเวียงจันทน์  พบว่า เครือข่ายชาวพุทธได้นำหลักธรรมทางพระพุทธศาสนามาบูรณาการหรือประยุกต์ใช้ เพื่อส่งเสริมการการอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาว ได้แก่ 1) อปริหานิยธรรม คือ ข้อ หมั่นประชุมกันเนืองนิตย์ เป็นการประชุมพบปะปรึกษาหารือกิจการงานต่าง ๆ แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นซึ่งกันและกัน และหาแนวทางแก้ไขปัญหาต่าง ๆ ร่วมกันโดยสม่ำเสมอ ความสำคัญต่อการส่งเสริมและการอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาว ต้องอาศัยการพบปะพูดคุยทำความเข้าใจกันระหว่างผู้นำชุมชน สมาชิกในชุมชน ตลอดจนถึง หน่วยงานในภาครัฐ และ ข้อ ให้ความเคารพบูชาสักการะเจดีย์ คือการให้ความเคารพศาสนสถาน ปูชนียสถาน อนุสาวรีย์ประจำชาติ อันเป็นเครื่องเตือนความจำ ปลุกเร้าให้เราทำความดี และเป็นที่รวมใจของหมู่ชน ไม่ละเลย พิธีเคารพบูชาอันพึงทำต่ออนุสรณ์สถานที่สำคัญเหล่านั้นตามประเพณีที่ดีงาม 2) หลักสัปปุริสธรรม 7 ในข้อ อัตตัญญุตา มีว่าประวัติศาสตร์ความเป็นมาของการอนุรักษ์ประเพณีการแข่งเรือยาวในท้องถิ่นของตน และ ปริสัญญุตา มีความหมายว่า ให้รู้จักชุมชนตลอดจนประเพณีและวัฒนธรรมในท้องถิ่นของตน 3) หลักปธาน 4 สัมมัปปธาน 4 หรือ ปธาน 4 ความเพียรชอบ ความเพียรใหญ่ คือ 1) สังวรปธาน คือ เพียรระวังยับยั้งบาปอกุศลธรรมที่ยังไม่เกิด มิให้เกิดขึ้น 2) ปหานปธานคือ เพียรละบาปอกุศลธรรมที่เกิดขึ้นแล้ว 3) ภาวนาปธาน คือ เพียรทำกุศลธรรมที่ยังไม่เกิด ให้เกิดมี 4) อนุรักขนาปธาน คือ เพียรรักษากุศลธรรมที่เกิดขึ้นแล้วให้ตั้งมั่นและให้เจริญ

บทคัดย่อภาษาอังกฤษ

The purposes of this research were; 1) to study the conception of the network roles and the background of the tradition of long boat racing 2) to study the traditional conservation of the long boat racing of network in Nongkhai province and Viantian capital and 3) to propose the approach of the traditional conservation of the long boat racing of the network in Nongkhai Province and Viantian capital . This research is the qualitative research by analyzing the data from Tipitaka, Buddhist academic documents, related researches and the data from interviewing  and to report the results of research by the descriptive analysis.

The results of the research were found that the history of the tradition of long boat racing in both two sides of the Khong Rvier. In the past, the main or small towns on the bank of Khong River appointed to come together in the main towns in order to perform the ritual of drinking oath water in the 15^th  day of lunar month of November of every year as the day of ritual performance. When the majority of the boat procession come together, it causes the racing contest. The aspect of the custom and tradition, the rituals and playing are believed that the current of water is the Thai and Lao culture for a long time, especially, the boat racing  from the past, appeared in the Lao historical picture, that is, Pha Aen (Pak U) having a man performing a boat racing for a long time. So the history has been written.

                 The conservation of the tradition of long boat racing of the network in Nongkhai Province and Viantian capital was found that the connection of relationship among the network sends the representatives and the racing boats to participate in the tradition of boat racing in the end of Buddhist Lent of two sides in order to conserve and enhance good customs and cultures of the location. The rituals and the tradition of boat racing are not different. The feature of the management of the tradition of boat racing of two banks of Khong river both Viantian capital and Nongkhai province has the similar management, that is, the aspect of policy, there is an agreement for each other by planning together both health and environment. In the security, there is a plan to conserve the security both the property and an accident that may occur. In the aspect of services, there is a plan to propagate the work to make people and the tourists know the data. It is to enhance the cultural tourism. The tradition of boat racing is the important tradition and the cultural heritage. So it should be conserved and enhanced  in order to make the generations carry on the good traditions for a long run.
