บทคัดย่อภาษาไทย

วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ คือ 1) เพื่อศึกษาสัญลักษณ์ทางศาสนาในศาสนาคริสต์  2) เพื่อศึกษาสัญลักษณ์ทางศาสนาในศาสนาเต๋า และ 3) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบสัญลักษณ์ทางศาสนาในศาสนาคริสต์และศาสนาเต๋า การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research) ขอบเขตด้านเนื้อหาที่ใช้ในการศึกษาค้นคว้าครั้งนี้มุ่งศึกษา สัญลักษณ์ทางศาสนา เช่น ความหมาย ความเชื่อที่มีต่อสัญลักษณ์ ด้านสุนทรียศาสตร์ (ความงาม) และด้านจริยธรรม (ความดี) สัญลักษณ์ทางศาสนา และสัญลักษณ์เชิงประยุกต์ในปัจจุบัน ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสัญลักษณ์ทางศาสนาคริสต์ คือ ไม้กางเขน และศาสนาเต๋า คือ หยิน-หยาง เป็นต้น ผลการวิจัยพบว่า

สัญลักษณ์ทางศาสนาคริสต์ พระเจ้าเป็นการสร้างในปรัชญาคริสต์ คือ ไม้กางเขนและรูปพระเยซูถูกตรึงบนกางเขน เป็นสัญลักษณ์ในศาสนาคริสต์ เป็นสัญลักษณ์ธรรมบัญญัติ “จงรักพระเจ้าด้วยสุดจิตสุดใจของท่าน” “จงรักเพื่อนบ้านเหมือนรักตนเอง” องค์ประกอบของความเป็นศาสนาคริสต์ คือ คำสอน ความเชื่อหรือศรัทธา และพิธีกรรม มีการตีความจากคำสอนของพระเยซูคริสต์ การรับรู้ จากความศรัทธา และการอธิบายความหมายสัญลักษณ์คริสต์ศาสนา “สัญลักษณ์” และ “ศาสนา” เป็นสิ่งที่ต้องทำควบคู่กัน ไม่สามารถแยกออกจากกันได้ การประยุกต์ใช้สัญลักษณ์ทางศาสนาคริสต์ในพิธีกรรม คือ “ศีลศักดิ์สิทธิ์” มีอยู่ 7 ศีล พิธีกรรมสำคัญของศาสนาคริสต์ เรียกว่า พิธีรับศีลศักดิ์สิทธิ์ มี 7 ประการ พิธีศีลล้างบาป พิธีศีลกำลัง พิธีศีลมหาสนิท พิธีศีลแก้บาป พิธีศีลเจิมคนไข้ พิธีศีลอนุกรม และพิธีศีลสมรส

สัญลักษณ์ทางศาสนาเต๋าเป็นลักษณะของธรรมชาติที่แสดงออกมาในรูปพลังหยินกับหยาง ให้ดำเนินชีวิตให้กลมกลืนกับธรรมชาติให้มากที่สุด คนจะทำดีและทำชั่วไม่ต้องมีกฎหมายบังคับ แต่ปล่อยให้ธรรมชาติให้คุณและลงโทษเอง ให้เอาธรรมะเข้าสู้อธรรม เอาความสัตย์เข้าสู้อสัตย์ เอาความดีเข้าสู่ความชั่ว  เต๋าเป็นสัจจะสากลซึ่งมีอยู่ในลัทธิศาสนาต่าง ๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นพุทธ  คริสต์ เป็นต้น  ศาสนาเต๋าเป็นสัจจะอันสูงสุด เราก็จะเห็นความจริงของธรรมชาติ ซึ่งอยู่เหนือลัทธิธรรมเนียมที่มนุษย์ได้บัญญัติสมมุติเอาไว้ สัจจะอันสูงสุดนั้น ไม่ได้ผูกขาดว่าเป็นของลัทธิศาสนาหรือชนชาติใด แต่เป็นของธรรมชาติที่มนุษย์ทุกคนสามารถเข้าถึงได้ และศาสนาเต๋าเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของความเป็นสากลที่มีอยู่โดยทั่วไป ในศาสนาทุกศาสนา เป็นศาสนาธรรมชาติหรือกฎธรรมชาติ ที่มนุษย์เดินตามแล้วจะลุถึงความเป็นมนุษย์ที่สมบูรณ์ และเป็นแนวทางที่ศาสนาทุกศาสนาจะละทิ้งความขัดแย้ง แล้วหันมาร่วมมือกันสร้างสันติภาพให้บังเกิดขึ้นแก่โลกฯ

บทคัดย่อภาษาอังกฤษ

               The thesis has three objectives: 1) to study the religious symbol in Christianity, 2) to study of the religious symbol in Taoism, and 3) to comparatively study of religious symbol between Christianity and Taoism. This is the documentary research which found out the primary sources e.g., the data of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council, and from the secondary sources e.g., the research works, thesis, journals, and articles both Thai and foreign languages.

               The results of study were as follows:

               The symbol in Christianity is God who was the creator in Christian philosophy that is the Cross and the Jesus’s Crucifixion, it is the symbol in Christianity which is the Commandments “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” “Love your neighbor as yourself”. The factor of being Christian is the teachings, the belief, and the ritual. There are the interpretations of Jesus Christ’s teachings that the awareness is from belief, and the explanation of Christian symbol as “Symbol” and “Religion”, these should be done together, cannot be separated from each other. The application of the Christian symbol in the rituals is “the Sacrament”, which is of seven Holy rites. The important rituals of Christianity are called the seven Sacraments: The Baptism, the Confirmation, the Communion, the Penance, an Anointing of the Sick, an Ordination, and the Matrimony.

               The symbol in Taoism is the natural characteristic that expressed in the form of Yin-Yang energy, and Lao Tzu riding a buffalo to live with the nature as much as possible. There is no law enactment for one who will do good and bad, let nature give itself the advantage and punishment, let the good over the evil, truth over untruth. Taoism is a universal truth existing in various religions, whether Buddhism, or Christianity. Taoism is the highest truth. It can be said that the natural truth is above the traditionalism that humans have assumed. That highest truth doesn’t have the privilege for any religions or any nationalities but it is the nature that all human beings can access. Taoism is a universal symbol that generally appears in all religions, it is the natural religions or the natural law, once human beings follow, then they would become the perfected ones, and it is the way that all religions should abandon all kinds of conflicts and cooperate with each other to build peacefulness to the world.
