บทคัดย่อภาษาไทย

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้เรื่อง “การศึกษาเปรียบเทียบธงสัญลักษณ์ทางศาสนาระหว่างพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาทและศาสนาพราหมณ์-ฮินดู” นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 3 ประการคือ (1) เพื่อศึกษาธงสัญลักษณ์ในพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาท (2) เพื่อศึกษาธงสัญลักษณ์ในศาสนาพราหมณ์-ฮินดู (3) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบธงสัญลักษณ์ในพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาทกับศาสนาพราหมณ์-ฮินดู การวิจัยนี้ เป็นการวิจัยเชิงเอกสาร แล้วนำข้อมูลที่ได้มาวิเคราะห์เปรียบเทียบในประเด็นเกี่ยวกับธงสัญลักษณ์ทางศาสนาระหว่างพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาทและศาสนาพราหมณ์-ฮินดู ผลการศึกษาพบว่า

พระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาทมีธงสัญลักษณ์ คือ “ธงธรรมจักร” หมายถึง วงล้ออันประเสริฐหรือเรียกว่า วงล้อแห่งธรรม ขับเคลื่อนไปเพื่อประโยชน์และความสุขแก่คนหมู่มาก และธงฉัพพรรณรังสี หมายถึง การแพร่ออกแห่งรัศมีของพระพุทธเจ้าที่นำความสุขและความเจริญให้กับพุทธศาสนิกชน

ศาสนาพราหมณ์-ฮินดู มีธงสัญลักษณ์ คือ “ธงตรีมูรติ” หมายถึง เทพเจ้า 3 พระองค์ ที่เป็นผู้สร้าง ผู้รักษา และผู้ทำลาย หมายถึง การเกิดขึ้น ตั้งอยู่ และดับไปในที่สุด ทำให้เห็นคุณค่าในฐานะเป้าหมายของชีวิต โดยการทำวิญญาณให้บริสุทธิ์ “อาตมัน” หลุดพ้นจากวัฏฏสงสาร “โมกษะ” เข้าถึงดินแดนแห่งพรหมอันสุขสบายชั่วนิรันดร

ดังนั้นธงสัญลักษณ์ในพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาทและศาสนาพราหมณ์-ฮินดู มีนัยยะที่สอด คล้องกัน และมีคุณค่าที่ศาสนิกชนให้ความเคารพ เปรียบเสมือนแนวคิดและแนวทางในการประพฤติปฏิบัติตามหลักธรรมคำสอนของศาสนา พร้อมทั้งช่วยเผยแผ่ศาสนาให้กว้างไกลยิ่งขึ้น

บทคัดย่อภาษาอังกฤษ

This thesis has three objectives: 1) to study of the religious symbol flag in Theravada Buddhism, 2) ) to study of the religious symbol flag in Brahmanism-Hinduism, and 3) to comparative study of the religious symbol flag in Theravada Buddhism and Brahmanism-Hinduism. This study is of qualitative research. The sources of this study have been collected from documents and research papers related to comparative study of the religious symbol flag in Theravada Buddhism and Brahmanism-Hinduism. It is found that:-

The Buddhist symbol flag is “Dhammcakka” means the Noble Wheel which is called Wheel of Dhamma, to move for benefits and happiness of people. The ray of six colors flag or the flag of Chabbaṇṇraṁsī is the aura that emanated from the Buddha that bring happiness and prosperity of Buddhist people.

The flag of Brahmanism-Hinduism is “the flag of Trinity” means the Triple deity of supreme divinity in which the cosmic functions of the creator, the preserver, and the destroyer. This is the meaning of arisen, existence, and fallen finally. It is to make the value as the goal of life with the purifying soul “Atman” the liberation of the cycle of life, to enter the land of Brahma which is the happy place forever.

Therefore, the flag symbol in Theravada Buddhism and Brahmanism – Hinduism is the same significance. It is the value that the followers respected, it compare as the concept and the way of practice following the principles of religions to help for propagation religion widely.
