บทคัดย่อภาษาไทย

การศึกษาวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อวิเคราะห์สถานภาพโสเภณีในคัมภีร์พระพุทธศาสนา 2) เพื่อวิเคาระห์บทบาทโสเภณีในคัมภีร์พระพุทธศาสนา โดยการศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นแบบเชิงคุณภาพเอกสาร โดยทำการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจาก คัมภีร์พระไตรปิฎก คัมภีร์อรรถกถา ได้นำมาวิเคราะห์ และสังเคราะห์ตามการวิจัย มีเนื้อหาสอดคล้องกับงานวิจัย

ผลการศึกษาพบว่า

สถานภาพโสเภณีในคัมภีร์พระพุทธศาสนา  สถานภาพโสเภณี มีลักษณะ 2 ประการ 1) สถานภาพของตำแหน่งนครโสเภณีที่ได้มาแต่กำเนิดจากกการสืบทอดต่อจากมารดา 2) สถานภาพที่ถูกกำหนดขึ้นในภายหลังจากโดยการถูกแต่งตั้งขึ้น สถานภาพความเป็นอยู่ของโสเภณี มีฐานะความเป็นอยู่ที่ดี มีความร่ำรวย สถานภาพการศึกษาเน้นไปในวิชานาฏศิลป์ โดยเริ่มฝึกหัดตั้งอายุแปดขวบ ถือเป็นบุคคลสำคัญของบ้านเมือง ด้านกฎหมาย ได้รับสิทธิการคุ้มครองความปลอดภัยในชีวิตและทรัพย์สินในการประกอบอาชีพ การพ้นจากตำแหน่ง ในการเสียชีวิต การขอลาออก เมื่อโสเภณีแก่ชราไม่มีรายได้ ทางราชการจะรับดูแล สถานภาพและชาติภูมิหลังโสเภณี บางท่านมีสถานภาพเป็นโอปาปติกะ บางท่านเคยเป็นลูกสาวของโสเภณี บางท่านเป็นลูกสาวเศรษฐี ในคัมภีร์พระพุทธศาสนามีปรากฏชื่อโสเภณี จำนวน ๑๐ ท่าน และไม่มีปรากฏชื่อจำนวนหลายแห่ง แต่ยังคงมีความหมายเดียวกัน เช่น หญิงงามเมือง หญิงแพศยา นางคณิกา

               บทบาทโสเภณีในคัมภีร์พระพุทธศาสนา ผลการศึกษาพบว่า  ที่มาของการมีอาชีพโสเภณี เพราะด้วยผลของกรรมใช้วาจาล่วงเกินพระอรหันต์ จึงเป็นเหตุที่มาของการมีอาชีพเป็นโสเภณี กระบวนการเข้าสู่ตำแหน่งของโสเภณี มี 3 แนวทาง คือ พระราชาสถาปนาแต่งตั้ง ประชาชนแต่งตั้ง การสืบทอดต่อจากมารดา ในความประพฤติบางประการที่น่าตำหนิของโสเภณี เป็นเหตุให้เกิดพุทธบัญญัติ เป็นเหตุให้เกิดอนุบัญญัติ เป็นเหตุให้เกิดพุทธานุญาต เหตุให้ทรงเปล่งอุทานในการสั่งสอน 

บทบาทของโสเภณีในพระพุทธศาสนา ถือเป็นผู้มีจิตใจเลื่อมใสศรัทธาในลักธรรมคำสอน จึงขอออกบวช และการบรรลุเป็นพระอรหันต์ บทบาทของโสเภณีกับบุคคลสำคัญในพระพุทธศาสนา ในฐานะบุตรของโสเภณี ในฐานะพระสนมคนพิเศษของพระราชา ในฐานะมารดาพระอรหันต์ ในฐานะลูกศิษย์กับพระอาจารย์

บทคัดย่อภาษาอังกฤษ

The objectives of this study is: to study the purpose of this research is the

study of the Analytical Study of The Status and Roles of the prostitute in Buddhist Scripture.

                   From this research it found that;

                   The status of prostitute in the Buddhist scripture. The research result indicated that the status of prostitute is divided in 2 statuses 1) the ascribed status, as the prostitute of the town, that was an inborn status inherited from the mother 2) the achieved status, that individuals gained and appointed as prostitute in society. The Status, of prostitute was high prestige and wealth. The educational status focused on Preforming arts, that started training at the age of eight. The social aspect, they were considered as the important people of the city. In legal status, the prostitute receive all legal rights protection in life safety and property. For working status, when they retired, death, or resigned, ones without any income were supported by government when they were aging. The status and background of the prostitute, some was an Opapatika, some was a prostitute’s daughter, some was a millionaire daughter. In Buddhist scripture mentioned 10 Prostitute, and several of unnamed prostitute but still referred to the same meaning as courtesans.

                   The role of a courtesan in the Buddhist scriptures, the study indicated that the factor of becoming courtesan was a result of verbally abused the Arahat, the beginning source of having the occupation of prostitute. The process to be prostitute are three approaches of king appointment, public appointment and, mother inherit. According to some behaviors of prostitute caused Buddhist law, conservative rules, permission, and teaching. The role of prostitute in Buddhism, they believed in the principle, have faith in ordination and became Arahat. The role of prostitute and important people in Buddhism stated as daughter of prostitute, the special host of the king, and mother of Arahant.
