การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 2 ประการ คือ 1)เพื่อศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและพิธีกรรมการบูชาปู่ด้วง-ย่าดีของชาวตำบลนาหนองทุ่ม และ 2)เพื่อศึกษาวิเคราะห์คติธรรมทางพระพุทธศาสนา ที่ปรากฏในพิธีกรรมการบูชาปู่ด้วง-ย่าดีของชาวตำบลนาหนองทุ่ม  การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ  ผู้วิจัยได้ศึกษาค้นคว้าและรวบรวมข้อมูล  จากหนังสือตำราวิชาการต่าง ๆ และงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องเครื่องมือวิจัย  ได้แก่การสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก  แล้วนำเสนอผลการวิจัยด้วยการวิเคราะห์เชิงพรรณนา

           ผลการวิจัยพบว่า  ชาวตำบลนาหนองทุ่มมีความสำนึกในคุณงามความดีของปู่ด้วง-ย่าดีจึงได้ประกอบพิธีกรรมการบูชาเป็นประจำทุกปี  ในระหว่างวันขึ้น 1-3 ค่ำ เดือน 3  ชาวบ้านจะนำดอกไม้ธูปเทียน  พานบายศรีไปกราบไหว้บูชา  ซึ่งมีคติธรรมทางพระพุทธศาสนา  ที่ปรากฏในพิธีกรรมการบูชาปู่ด้วง-ย่าดีอยู่  5  ประการ  ได้แก่  1)  ความกตัญญูรู้คุณแล้วทำตอบแทนต่อผู้ทำความดีมาก่อน 2) อามิสบูชาการประกอบพิธีกรรมการบูชาด้วยการนำเครื่องบูชาต่างๆ นั้นถือว่าชาวบ้านได้ปฏิบัติตามหลักธรรมทางพระพุทธศาสนา คือ อามิสบูชา ได้แก่การบูชาด้วยวัตถุสิ่งของมีดอกไม้ ธูปเทียน เป็นต้น 3) ความมีสามัคคีธรรม  การที่ชาวบ้านได้ร่วมกันประกอบพิธีกรรมการบูชาเป็นจำนวนมากในทุกปีนั้น เป็นเครื่องแสดงความสมัครสมานและรักใคร่กลมเกลียวต่อกัน  4) ปูชนียบุคคล ได้แก่ ปู่ด้วง-ย่าดีเป็นบุคคลที่ควรประกอบพิธีกรรมให้เป็นประจำ  เพราะการได้ทำอย่างนั้น  ถือว่าเป็นมงคลอย่างยิ่ง  และ  5) ความเป็นเทพ (เทวดา)  คือชาวบ้านมีความเชื่อว่าปู่ด้วง-ย่าดีมีภาวะประดุจดังเทพเทวดาหรือเป็นสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ประจำชุมชน

           The aims of this research were: 1) to study the current conditions and ritual of worship ‘Pudung-Yadee (literally, Dung grandfather-Dee grandmother) of people in the Nanongtoom Sub - district; 2) to analyze the Buddhist dhammas appeared in such ritual. This study employed the qualitative research methodology through its investigation of academic work and research. The data were obtained by using the in-depth interview before being interpreted through the descriptive analysis. 

           The research results revealed that Nanong Toom Sub-district people have a sense of thankfulness of Grandfather Dung-Grandmother Dee; they therefore performed an annual worship ceremony during the day 1-3, in the evening of the 3rd month. The villagers will bring flowers, incense, candles and rice barns to worship. After careful analysis, five Buddhist morals appear in this worshiping ceremony: 1) gratitude and reward to the good deeds doers; 2) material worship, the villagers have followed the principles of Buddhism by performing the worship with objects, flowers, incense, candles, etc; 3) fellowship, many villagers made their contribution to organizing the worship ceremony every year; this showed their fellowship; 4) the ancestors, Grandfather Dung-Grandmother Dee are the person who should be paid respect by performing the ritual regularly because of doing that is considered a very auspicious thing; 5) being a deity (angel), a villagers’ belief  showed that Grandfather Dung- Grandmother Dee are like gods, angels, or sacred things in the community.
